Gautam Gambhir's reaction to MS Dhoni's sixes sparks meme fest

in SPORTS

The IPL match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) might have gone in favour of MS Dhoni and Co., but it was LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir who grabbed all the limelight, but for a humourous reason. Gambhir’s stone face reaction after Dhoni’s spectacular sixes in the final over on Monday sparked a meme fest on social media, leaving users in splits as they found his ‘shell-shocked’ reaction hilarious.

While the fans were left in awe after CSK posted up a strong target of 218 runs with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Moeen Ali propelling the team to their first win, the cameras soon panned to the Lucknow mentor in the pavilion who clearly seemed disappointed and shocked as Dhoni brought his A-game to the table.

CSK vs LSG IPL 2023: Dhoni cameo, Gaikwad fifty and Moeen Ali’s spin powers Chennai to victory

in SPORTS

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) failed to chase down a mammoth target of 218 after their captain KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bowl first against the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings CSK in their Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter at the Chepauk on Monday.

Batting first, CSK was off to a flier with a superb knock from the classy Ruturaj Gaikwad and Kiwi opener Devon Conway, setting up the platform for CSK to post a big total. Gaikwad toyed with the LSG bowlers and made batting look easy. His exit slowed things down, but late cameos from Rayudu and Dhoni powered CSK to 217/7 in 20 overs.

Steve Smith To Replace Kane Williamson in Gujarat Titans’ Squad for IPL 2023

in SPORTS

Injuries have been galore in the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). While as many as 12 players will miss the tournament (fully or partially), another star player Kane Williamson got injured in the opening game of the season playing for the defending champions Gujarat Titans. Williamson, who was playing for only his second team in the IPL having played for Sunrisers Hyderabad for 8 years, tried to stop a certain six while fielding on the boundary. Williamson managed to throw the ball back in time and saved two runs for his side but in the process landed awkwardly outside the boundary line and hurt his right knee. While there is an official confirmation pending, Williamson is likely to be ruled out of the whole tournament.
