Fresh from his World Championship gold medal, India’s Neeraj Chopra finished second in the men’s javelin throw event at the Zurich Diamond League meet on Thursday night behind Jakub Vadlejch.

After a slow start — where he threw 80.79m with his first attempt and then could not register a mark in his next two attempts — Chopra threw 85.82m in his 4th attempt. He produced his best throw of the night with his final attempt, a 85.71m heave that secured him second spot. The Indian’s best effort was just 15 centimetres short of Vadlejch’s best throw on the night.

The pre-sale window for the first lot of tickets for the high-voltage ICC World Cup 2023 match between Indian cricket team and Pakistan saw huge interest from fans on Tuesday. The ICC's ticketing partner 'Book My Show' opened its exclusive pre-sale window for the October 14  clash in Ahmedabad, but it was sold out within an hour. There will be another round of general sale for the India-Pakistan match on September 3, there is a chance that then also it would be a complete sell-out within hours, like it happened on Tuesday for all the Mastercard holders.

Arshad Nadeem is hopeful of winning an Olympic Gold medal for Pakistan. The 26-year-old javelin thrower is daring to dream after having proved himself at the highest level over the last few years. After breaching the 90m mark for Gold at the Commonwealth Games in 2022, Arshad Nadeem won Pakistan's first medal in World Athletics Championships history when he took home silver in the men's javelin final in Budapest on Sunday, August 28.

Arshad Nadeem shared the podium once again with his good friend Neeraj Chopra, who won a historic Gold for India. It was a show of strength from the Asian throwers in a sport that has traditionally been dominated by Europeans. 

Former No. 2 overall NBA Draft pick Lonzo Ball has been marred by injuries over the past couple of seasons.
