Karnataka Assembly Election 2023: How BJP is preparing for the polls

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has initiated the groundwork in Karanataka for the assembly election and has formed three teams that will travel across the state to understand the issues and demands of the people from the government and to assess the developing situation.

"This is a very important exercise to help the BJP understand the ground situation, and assess the organisational strength, besides gathering feedback on the Central and the state government's schemes. The report will then be shared with the Central and the state BJP leaders," said a senior BJP functionary.

BJP Karanataka teams: The first team will be led by the BJP national general secretary and Karnataka in-charge Arun Singh.

ED's adjudicating authority gives confirmation for attached properties of Anil Deshmukh

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently received confirmation from the adjudicating authority on the attachment of properties made in the case against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.

The confirmation order was regarding the attachment of assets made by the ED officials in the money laundering case against Deshmukh, which was filed by the agency in the month of July last year.

After the confirmation, ED officials can now move court seeking evacuation of the said properties and take them under the agency's control.

First commercial flight of made-in-India Dornier plane today

Alliance Air's made-in-India aircraft - Dornier 228 - will be operated for its first commercial flight on Tuesday. The aircraft will fly on the Dibrugarh-Pasighat route, confirmed the Ministry of Civil Aviation on Monday.

In February, the Centre-run Alliance Air had signed a pact with government-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited to lease two 17-seater Dornier 228 aircraft. Alliance Air received its first Dornier 228 aircraft on Thursday, April 7.

The Dornier 228 aircraft's maiden flight would be from Dibrugarh in Assam to Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday. Alliance Air, in an official statement, explained that this flight will help boost connectivity in the northeastern states.

BJP slams Odisha CM for not inviting anyone from Centre to open medical college

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra criticised Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s scheduled visit to Puri Monday to inaugurate the Sri Jagannath Medical College & Hospital (SJMCH) over alleged discourtesy shown by the state to the central government.

In a Twitter post Sunday, Patra called it “astonishing” that the inauguration was done without a “courtesy call to the central govt to participate”.

The BJP leader expressed disbelief about how a college/hospital established under a “Centrally Sponsored Scheme” was being inaugurated without informing the Centre.

More than one IAF official responsible in accidental missile firing, action to be taken soon

Acting swiftly towards fixing accountability, the Indian Air Force inquiry into the BrahMos accidental missile firing incident has blamed more than one official for the mishap. A missile was launched accidentally by Indian Air Force personnel on March 9 evening and landed in Pakistan without causing much damage to life or property as it was unarmed.

"The inquiry by Vice Air Marshal RK Sinha has found more than one official from the missile squadron blameworthy. Quick action would be taken against them and they would soon be dealt with strictly," top government sources told media.
