India lays down new road to Daulat Beg Oldi, secures key point at LAC

India is on the threshold of completing a major project which will provide the country with an alternative route to the remote but Indian Army's strategically important outpost near the Line of Actual Control (LAC), said the top officials on Thursday (Sep 28) as reported by an English daily.

The new road, which will connect India’s northernmost military base Daulat Beg Oldi (DBO), will allow the movement of weapons, logistics and soldiers for reinforcements on the front lines.

US: EAM Jaishankar Arrives In Washington DC; Set To meet Blinken, Tai

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankaron Wednesday (local time) arrived in Washington, DC, where he will be engaging with a number of delegates. Jaishankar arrived from New York in DC. He will be meeting his US counterpart Antony Blinken during his visit along with White House officials, members of the US administration, business leaders and think tanks. Jaishankar will also meet US Trade Representative, Ambassador Katherine Tai in a closed press meeting here in Washington, DC.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has tasked Ramesh Bidhuri with poll responsibility in Tonk district of Rajasthan. Bidhuri was earlier issued a showcause notice by the party after he abused BSP's Muslim MP Danish Ali in the Lok Sabha, sparking massive uproar.

Fire Breaks Out at PG Hostel in Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar; All 35 Girls Evacuated Safely

Amassive fire broke out at a girls’ PG in Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar area on Wednesday. The information about the blaze was received by the fire department at around 7:40 pm. The fire was completely extinguished and all 35 girls, which also included a four-year-old girl was rescued safely from the building.

Only eight fire engines reached the spot even though 20 were sent to the spot, because of traffic congestion and narrow lanes. According to officials from the fire department, five persons, including the four-year old girl, were taken to hospital since they had inhaled fumes.
