Sachin Pilot, wife Sara are divorced: Congress leader's poll affidavit reveals

Rajasthan Congress leader Sachin Pilot and his wife Sara Abdullah have separated after nearly two decades of marriage. In his election affidavit for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly polls, the Congress leader mentioned himself as a divorcee. 

This is the first time that Pilot has disclosed his separation from his wife, who is the daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) chief Farooq Abdullah.

Hijab-wearing woman shot by police in Paris for 'threatening' to blow up subway

French police shot a hijab-wearing woman in a Paris metro station on Tuesday morning, as reported by local media. According to news agency AFP, commuters said the woman was shot after she started behaving in a threatening manner.

The woman allegedly threatened to blow up the subway shouting "Allah Hu Akbar" and this is when the police opened fire.

According to news agency AFP, the woman "refused to follow police orders" and threatened "to blow herself up".

Election Commission tells Delhi HC it can't regulate political alliance over plea to restrain parties from using acronym INDIA

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday in its reply in the Delhi High Court, that it can't regulate political alliances while responding to a plea against the use of the INDIA acronym for the Alliance of opposition parties

"The answering Respondent (ECI) is constituted under Article 324 of the Constitution of India for superintendence, direction and control of the conduct of all elections to parliament, state legislatures and the offices of president and vice president," the ECI stated.
