Ashneer Grover, wife summoned by Delhi Police on Nov 21 in Rs 81-crore fraud case

The Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing has summoned BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover and his wife Madhuri Jain for questioning in connection with an alleged Rs 81-crore fraud at the fintech unicorn, police sources said on Friday.

The couple has been asked to appear at the Economic Offences Wing's (EOW) Mandir Marg office on November 21 to join the probe being carried out on a complaint by BharatPe, the sources said.

The Indian Navy on Thursday launched its most advanced and state-of-the-art anti-submarine warfare shallow watercraft, named Amini.

A ceremonial 'ship launch', where a newly-built ship is transferred from land to the water, was performed on Thursday.

The vessel is named after a strategically important island in the Lakshadweep archipelago on India's western coast, almost 400 km off Kochi, Kerala.

The Israeli military on Thursday said that its warplanes struck the house of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the terrorist organisation Hamas. The  Israel Defense Forces (IDF) shared aerial footage of the explosion on its official X account.

Ismail Haniyeh is the main political leader of Hamas, living outside of Gaza in Doha, Qatar. Hamas had previously claimed that Israel had hit two homes belonging to Haniyeh and his family, as per a report by The Times of Israel.

US President Joe Biden labels Xi Jinping 'dictator' again amid China's 'unstoppable' Taiwan pursuit

A carefully planned summit between Joe Biden and Xi Jinping took a tense turn hours after their meeting when the US President referred to his Chinese counterpart as a "dictator".

The term, which Biden has now used against Xi for the second time, didn't go down well with China, who called it "extremely absurd and irresponsible."

At the same time, China ratcheted up its aggressive stance on Taiwan in the backdrop of the meeting, vowing to be "unstoppable in eventually retaking" the island nation.

Uttarkashi rescue ops enter Day 6, debris pauses drilling to install escape pipe

Rescue teams in Uttarkashi made significant headway overnight in the ongoing operation to free 40 workers trapped inside the Silkyara Tunnel, with the second and third pipes, each with a diameter of 900 mm and a length of 6 meters, now fully inserted into the debris.

The Silkyara Control Room of the Emergency Operation Center said that as of 6 AM on Friday, the advanced auger drilling machine has drilled through 21 metres of the accumulated debris within the tunnel. However, the presence of a hard substance within the debris temporarily halted the drilling process, adding to the complexity of the operation.
