Jalna is famous in Maharashtra for steel production. But, the Income Tax Department has brought the illegal industry of steel manufacturers to the fore. The income tax department raided the homes, farmhouses and offices of the steel manufacturing factories. In this raid, the income tax department has got a lot of trouble. As many as 390 crore unaccounted assets have come to light. 58 crores in cash, 32 kg gold ornaments, 16 crores including diamonds have been found in this. Apart from this, property documents worth 300 crores have also been found.

Mumbai Metro 3 cost hiked by Rs 10,000 Crore

The first Cabinet meeting of the Eknath Shinde government after expansion approved an increase of Rs 10,000 crore in the overall cost of the Mumbai Metro 3 project, which will connect Nariman Point, Worli, Bandra-Kurla Complex, airports and Colaba-Bandra-Santacruz Electronics Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ).

The cost of the project has risen from Rs 23,136 crore to Rs 33,405 crore, with state government now contributing Rs 3,699.81 crore from the earlier Rs 2,402.7 crore.

Chenab Bridge gets golden joint; likely to launch on Aug 13

In a big milestone, the overarch deck of the iconic Chenab Railway Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir, which is world’s highest railway bridge, will get completed with a golden joint this month, pushing the project to 98 per cent completion.The final piece of the overarch deck at the world’s highest single-arch railway bridge is expected launch on August 13. The moment will be marked with a golden joint.The bridge superstructure on the arch was incrementally being pushed from two ends of the Chenab River valley, and it will finally meet at the middle of the arch.

Giridhar Rajagopalan, Deputy Managing Director of Afcons, said that the reason it is called golden joint is the intricacies in the coordinates to make sure it fitst perfectly.

ED raids Kerala bank, homes of accused in Rs 300 crore loan fraud

The Karuvannur Co-Operative Bank in Kerala's Thrissur is being raided by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The homes of all the accused in the Rs 300 crore bank scam were also raided by the agency. Nearly 75 officials of the financial probe agency are involved in the raids across several locations.

The action comes at a time when depositors have complained against the functioning of the CPIM-backed bank and demanded returns on their investments.

A woman, unable to get proper treatment, recently died. Her family alleged that the bank refused to give back their money.
