#India Logs 605 Fresh Covid Cases, 4 Deaths In Past 24 Hrs

India has recorded 605 new cases of Covid, while the number of active cases of the infection has declined to 3,643, the health ministry said on Wednesday. Four deaths -- two each from Karnataka and Kerala -- have been reported in a span of 24 hours, according to the ministry's data updated at 8 am. The number of daily cases had dropped to double-digits till December 5, 2023 but cases began to increase after emergence of a new variant and cold weather conditions. After December 5, 841 new cases were reported on December 31, 2023 which was 0.2 per cent of the peak cases reported in May 2021, official sources said.

#Review Petition Filed Against SC Judgement, 'Article 370 Can't Be Killed'

Petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court seeking a review of its judgment, which upheld the validity of the Union government's 2019 decision to abrogate Article 370 of the Constitution, which conferred the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

Doctor Hussain, president of the J&K People's Movement, and Muzzafar Shah, president of the J&K Awami National Conference, told ANI that they have filed review petitions in the Supreme Court.

"Article 370 cannot be killed. We have filed a review petition against the SC's judgment on Article 370. We will debate it in court," Muzzafar Shah told ANI.

#Punjab Withdraws Support To Centre’s Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra

Punjab National Health Mission (PNHM), in a fresh order issued on Monday, has directed all the civil surgeons in the state to stop the planned outreach activities under the Union government’s ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ (VBSY) in the state.

This comes amid the backdrop of the Centre not releasing ₹402.48 crore under the National Health Mission (NHM) to Punjab due to the state’s non-compliance with branding guidelines for Ayushman Bharat-Health and Wellness Centres.

#PM Modi To Hold Roadshow With UAE President In Gujarat Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will lead a grand roadshow on Tuesday at 5 pm from Ahmedabad Airport to Gandhinagar.
