#FCRA: LSR, IIT-D among 6000 whose license ceases

New Delhi: IIT Delhi, Jamia Millia Islamia, Indian Medical Association and Nehru Memorial Museum and Library are among nearly 6,000 entities whose FCRA registration deemed to have ceased on Saturday. These entities either did not apply for renewal of their FCRA licence or the Union Home Ministry rejected their applications, officials said.

According to the official website related to the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, among organisations and entities whose registration under the FCRA ceased or validity expired include the Indira Gandhi National Centre For Arts, Indian Institute Of Public Administration, Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial Foundation, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi College of Engineering and Oxfam India.

#AgriBoost: PM Narendra Modi To Release Rs 20,000 Crore Under PM-Kisan For 10 Crore Farmers Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to release the 10th installment of financial benefit under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme at 12:30 PM via video conferencing on Saturday (January 1, 2022). Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will also be present on the occasion.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister`s Office (PMO), this is in line with the government`s continued commitment and resolve to empower grassroots-level farmers. 

The statement also added that this will enable the transfer of an amount of more than Rs 20,000 crore to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families.

#PilgrimCasualties: 12 Dead, 14 Injured In Stampede At Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine In J&K, Inform Cops

Twelve pilgrims have died and over a dozen others injured in a stampede at Jammu and Kashmir's Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. The stampede was triggered by a massive rush of devotees, officials said today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is "personally monitoring and keeping track" of the tragic situation, a minister in his office said.

Mukesh Singh, the Additional Director General of Police or ADGP, confirmed that 12 pilgrims have died and at least 14 are injured in the stampede. "All the injured have been taken to a hospital," he added.

The incident occurred outside the sanctum sanctorum of the shrine on Trikuta hills.

#CoWinRegistration: Set To Begin From Today; Vaccination For Kids Aged 15-18 Years

India is all set to begin CoWin registrations for the Covid-19 vaccination for children aged 15 to 18 years from Saturday. The government has said both walk-in and online registration will be available for vaccination of children, who would start getting doses against Covid-19 on January 3.

While the CoWin registrations will begin from Saturday, the onsite registration will commence from the day of vaccination i.e. January 3 itself.

According to the government's guidelines, children can book slots on the CoWin app using their ID cards from January 1.

Dr R S Sharma, Cowin platform chief, had earlier said that besides Aadhaar and other national identity cards, children can use their class 10th ID card for registration.
