The Tamil Nadu government is implementing several schemes for the betterment of women in the state. A special scheme is currently being implemented as a huge saving scheme at post offices by the central government. It is undertaken by the Indian Postal Department and its purpose is to protect the welfare of the women.

Viluppuram’s Assistant Postmaster Sadiq Pasha has shared the benefits and process of this scheme and the main benefit is that it helps women open bank accounts with high interest and minimum investment.

#Supreme Court Verdict On Article 370 To Be Delivered on Dec 11

A Constitution bench of the Supreme Court will deliver on December 11 its ruling on a clutch of petitions that have challenged the August 2019 abrogation of Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, and the subsequent restructuring of the state into two Union territories.

The five-judge bench comprises Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud and justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Sanjiv Khanna, Bhushan R Gavai and Surya Kant.

According to people aware of the matter, CJI Chandrachud and justice Kaul have authored two separate judgments for the bench.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Thursday (November 7) that there was no question of "equitable treatment" of the US and Canada in relation to allegations that Indian officials were involved in the targeting of Khalistan separatists in both countries, because one had provided input to India and the other had not.

In response to a supplementary question from CPI(M) MP John Brittas during Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha, Jaishankar stated that an inquiry committee had been formed in the case of the US allegation.

#Rajasthan Bandh: Karni Sena Calls For State-Wide Protest After Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi's Assassination

Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena Chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was assassinated on December 5, 2023 triggering multiple protests by the members of the Karni Sena. 

The Karni Sena President was shot dead in the living room of his house in Jaipur on Tuesday by three armed men. 

One of Gogamedi's security guards sustained bullet injuries in the exchange of fire with the assailants, who had gone to his house in the Shyam Nagar area on the pretext of meeting him, they said.
