#Dense Fog Blankets Delhi, Airport Issues Advisory For Non-CAT III Compliant Flights

As the cold wave maintains its grip on the national capital, parts of Delhi woke up to a thick layer of dense fog today. The dense fog has led to poor visibility conditions in several parts of the city, impacting the normal flow of traffic and causing delays for early morning commuters.

Delhi Airport has issued an advisory stating that while landing and takeoffs continue, flights not compliant with CAT III (Category III) standards may face disruptions. Passengers have been advised to contact their respective airlines for the latest flight information and to check if their flights are CAT III compliant.

#INS Imphal: Navy's Indigenous Destroyer To Be Commissioned Today

In a boost to maritime capability amid China's increasing forays into the Indian Ocean region, the Indian Navy is set to commission its latest indigenously built stealth-guided missile destroyer, INS Imphal, at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai on Tuesday. Defence minister Rajnath Singh will be present at the ceremony.

The commissioning ceremony will mark the formal induction into the Navy of the third of four ‘Visakhapatnam’ class destroyers, indigenously designed and built by the Indian Navy's in-house organisation, Warship Design Bureau.

#J&K: Army Chief Visits Poonch: Asks Officers To Behave In ‘Professional Manner’

Four days after a militant ambush on Army vehicles killed four Army personnel in Poonch, Army Chief General Manoj Pande reviewed the security situation in the sector on Monday and asked commanders on the ground to conduct operations in the “most professional manner”.

Three local civilians were found dead after interrogations by the Army during the cordon-and-search operations to trace the militants a day later. The Indian Express had reported Saturday that of the eight civilians picked up by security personnel, three died and five were injured and admitted in the Government Medical College in Rajouri.

#Weather Update: Dense Fog To Engulf Delhi, UP, Punjab; Fresh Spell Of Rain In Tamil Nadu

Amidst the bone-chilling winter prevailing in the nation, regions in the North and North-western parts of India find themselves shrouded in thick fog, significantly reducing visibility. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) anticipates the persistence of dense fog during the early hours in various areas of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh over the next 48 hours.

On December 26 and 27, IMD has forecast for dense to very dense fog in Rajasthan and North Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, from December 26 to December 30, dense fog is expected to envelop the northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

#J&K: 5 Soldiers Killed In J-K's Poonch, Terrorists Laid Ambush At 'Blind Curve'

Five soldiers were killed and two injured when heavily-armed terrorists ambushed two Army vehicles in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Thursday, officials told news agency PTI.

Sources told India Today TV that three to four terrorists were involved in the attack and that they positioned themselves atop a hill at Dhatyar Morh between Dhera Ki Gali and Bufliaz. From the hill, they then fired bullets at the two Army vehicles and took away the weapons of the jawans who lost their lives in the attack, sources said.
