Adani Group latches on to lawyer's complaint to target Mahua Moitra; Hiranandani denies allegations

Embattled Adani Group on Monday latched on to a complaint by a BJP MP to make its first direct attack on TMC lawmaker Mahua Moitra, who has been at the forefront of criticising the conglomerate ever since Hindenburg alleged fraud, saying groups and individuals have been working overtime to harm its name and market standing.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Sunday wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla alleging that Trinamool Congress MP took bribes for raising questions in Parliament to "protect the interest of a business group."

Grasim Industries to raise Rs 4,000 cr from shareholders via rights issue

Grasim Industries on October 16 said its Board of Directors at its meeting approved to raise Rs 4,000 crore via rights issue. The record date for the same will be announced later.

The board “inter-alia approved the raising of funds by way of issue of equity shares of face value of Rs 2 each through rights issue for an amount not exceeding Rs 4,000 crore to the eligible equity shareholders of the company as on the record date (to be determined in due course), subject to receipt of regulatory/statutory approvals,” Grasim Industries said in a regulatory filing.

HDFC Bank Q2 Results On October 16: Net Profit To Jump, Margins Likely To Take A Hit

India’s largest private lender HDFC Bank, which is scheduled to release its financial results on Monday, October 16, is expected to post a robust growth in its net profit, according to analysts. The bank, however, is likely to see a hit on its margins due to excess liquidity.

According to a Moneycontrol report citing the average of five brokers’ estimates, HDFC Bank is expected to register a 39.4 per cent year-on-year (YoY) jump in its net profit to Rs 14,780 crore. The bank’s net interest income (NII) may rise 33.6 per cent to touch Rs 28,089.9 crore.

Air India acquires its first Airbus A350-900 via finance lease through GIFT IFSC

The transaction was facilitated by AI Fleet Services Limited (AIFS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India, and a GIFT IFSC-registered finance company, the Tata group airline said in a release. Air India did not provide details of the transaction.

“This landmark transaction marks the beginning of our aircraft leasing business from GIFT IFSC, as AIFS will be the primary Air India Group entity for widebody aircraft financing, playing a pivotal role in the future aircraft financing strategy for us and our subsidiaries. It is also a shot in the arm for the development of a robust aviation ecosystem in India. As a flag-bearer of the country, Air India is happy to support the Government of India’s efforts to develop an aircraft leasing hub in GIFT IFSC,” Air India’s Chief Commercial and Transformation Officer Nipun Aggarwal said.

Mitsubishi to exit from China production

Mitsubishi Motors has decided to end automobile production in China, the Nikkei newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The Japanese automaker is making final arrangements with its local joint venture partner Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) for the exit, the newspaper said without citing sources. GAC will likely convert the plant, in Hunan province, to a production base for electric vehicles, the paper said.
