Chennai IT company CEO gifts cars to employees for long-term commitment

Murali, CEO of Ideas2IT Technology Services Private Limited, has provided brand-new cars to 50 employees as a token of appreciation, according to a report from India Today. 

Established in 2009 by Murali and his spouse, the Chennai-based IT company values the dedication of numerous employees who have supported the firm since its inception. "Several employees have consistently shown dedication since our company's founding. To acknowledge their commitment, we've allocated 33% of the shares to them," Murali remarked.

In addition to this gesture, the firm distributed 100 cars to employees last year, further illustrating its commitment to recognising and rewarding their efforts, the report said.

IndiGo withdraws fuel charge after fall in ATF prices

With jet fuel (ATF) prices falling from what they were over the past few months, India’s largest airline IndiGo has withdrawn fuel charges it had imposed on domestic and foreign routes.

The fuel charge, announced by IndiGo early October, was based on distance slabs and varied between Rs 300 and Rs 1,000 per sector.

“IndiGo, India’s leading airline, is pleased to announce the removal of fuel charge applicable on its on domestic and international routes, effective January 04, 2024. The fuel charge had been introduced in October 2023, following a surge in aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices. With recent reduction in ATF prices, IndiGo is withdrawing the charge,” IndiGo said in a statement.

ISRO to tie-up with Elon Musk’s SpaceX to launch satellite

ISRO's (Indian Space Research Oragnisation) commercial arm NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) announced on Wednesday (January 3) that it will use Elon Musk-led SpaceX's Falcon-9 for one of its mission launches later this year.

The mission to launch GSAT-20, has been slated for a launch in second quarter of this year. This mission will be the first time ISRO will be using a SpaceX rocket to launch one of its satellites.

Fuel pumps running dry across India amid widespread protests by truck drivers

Petrol pumps in many places, particularly in hill stations and remote areas, are either already dry or are on the verge of running out of auto fuels because of the strike by drivers of commercial vehicles such as trucks and tankers who are protesting against the hit-and-run provision of the new penal law.

Pumps are currently open and selling both petrol and diesel in major cities such as Mumbai, New Delhi and the National Capital Territory of Delhi, but supplies are affected in the smaller towns and hinterland, a quick survey of retail outlets across the country revealed.
