Gram Unnati conducts training camps on pest & disease management for Maize farmers

With the onset of the spring season, Gram Unnati, one of country’s first integrated agri-tech solutions companies, brought together farmers from two districts of Uttar Pradesh and trained them on the latest and scientifically recommended Package of Practices on spring maize with a focus on pest and disease management. Gram Unnati has been actively engaged in promoting spring maize as a viable alternative to summer paddy.

Gram Unnati conducted training camps in Bilaspur block of Rampur district and Baheri Block of Bareilly district that was attended by more than 100 farmers over a two-day period (March 19th and 20th). The farmers were made aware about a vast range of post-sowing to post-harvest management practices of the crop with a special focus on managing the extremely harmful Fall Army Worm.

Billionaire industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla receives Padma Bhushan

The Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award, was bestowed upon Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla on Wednesday. President Droupadi Murmu conferred the award upon KM Birla at the Padma awards ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi.

Kumar Mangalam Birla was awarded the Padma Bhushan for his commendable contribution to the field of trade and industry. He is now the fourth member of his family to have received a Padma award. 

Before Kumar Mangalam Birla, his mother Rajshree Birla and grandfather Basant Kumar Birla were awarded the Padma Bhushan and his great-grandfather Ghanshyam Das Birla was awarded the Padma Vibhushan.

India's first Made In India electric truck gets ready in Gujarat

India's first Made In India electric truck is ready for unveiling in Gujarat. The electric truck has been made by Trinton company in Kheda district.

Trinton had set up a research and development centre in Kheda where the company had developed the truck.

The truck is made by the company owned by Gujarati resident Himanshu Patel, who is now settled in the United States. The electric truck was featured before the media on Tuesday.

HAL loses Malaysian LCA contract to South Korea’s KAI

Malaysia has awarded a contract worth $920 million to Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) for the supply of 18 aircraft under its Fighter Lead-In Trainer-Light Combat Aircraft (FLIT-LCA) program. KAI will deliver the FA-50 Golden Eagle, a weaponised version of the T-50 trainer, in 2026. The decision was made after a competitive tender that included India’s Tejas fighter jet made by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

“We were short-listed for the Malaysian LCA contract. We were hopeful as we were very competitive on several criteria but unfortunately this has not gone our way,” sources in HAL said.

Adani Hindenburg row: AEL suspends work on Rs 34,900 cr petrochemical project in Gujarat

Adani Group has suspended work on a Rs 34,900 crore petrochemical project at Mundra in Gujarat as it focuses on resources to consolidate operations and address investor concerns following a damning report by a US-based short seller, reported PTI.

With the company trying to make a comeback for the time being the 1 million tonne per annum Green PVC project is one of the projects that will be suspended till further notice, reported PTI citing two sources with knowledge of the matter.

According to the report by PTI, Adani group has sent mails to vendors and suppliers to "suspend all activities" on immediate basis. According to the report the group has asked them to "suspend all activities of the scope of work and performance of all obligations" for Mundra Petrochem Ltd Green PVC project "till further notice."
