RBI to launch pilot project for ‘frictionless credit'

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is set to launch its digital lending pilot project for public tech platform for 'frictionless credit' on Thursday.

The RBI, in a notification dated August 14, said the platform is being developed by the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the central bank.

The RBI stated that the Public Tech Platform is designed to facilitate the smooth provision of credit by ensuring the effortless transmission of essential digital data to lenders.

Axis Bank, Canara Bank Revise Interest Rates on Fixed Deposits

Attention bank customers, two major banks this week have revised the interest rate of fixed deposits. Axis Bank and Canara Bank have revised the interest rates on their fixed deposits for amounts less than Rs 2 crore. The announcement from these two banks comes after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) decided to keep the repo rate unchanged at 6.5 per cent for the third time in a row. The policy interest rate was announced by RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das on 10 August 2023.

Mahindra to launch new Scorpio-N based pickup SUV by 2026-27

At its annual Independence Day extravaganza, this year held in South Africa, Mahindra unveiled the Scorpio N based pickup concept – the Global Pik Up. The Pik Up moniker is what Mahindra currently uses as the model name for its Scorpio Classic-based pickup truck in many international markets.

As we exclusively reported before, the concept will spawn a production pickup (codenamed Z121) and Mahindra says it will be underpinned by a ‘next-generation ladder-frame’ that will fare well in Global NCAP as well as Euro NCAP tests.
