Pak teams not welcome, says Sports Minister Vijay Goel

New Delhi: Sports Minister Vijay Goel said on Wednesday said that India cannot play bilateral series with Pakistan. The statement of minister came after the denial of visas for the Pakistan’s Squash and Wrestling teams, which were going to participate in the Asian Champions Trophy, scheduled to take place in India. The official of Pakistan Wrestling Federation informed media that Indian High Commissioner denied issuing visas for the Pakistani teams.

Goel said that terrorism and sports cannot go hand in hand. “Terrorism and sports can’t go along and Pakistan should understand that. The relation between India and Pakistan can be cordial only after Pakistan stops sponsoring cross border terrorism,” Goel told the media after the announcement of National Youth Awards in the captital Delhi.

Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi told the court on Tuesday that the idea behind bringing Aadhaar was to have a secure and robust system to ensure that the identity of a person cannot be faked.

Prime Minister NarendraModi has wished on the day and reiterated his unwavering support towards a free and vibrant press, which is vital in a democracy. In a tweet Modi said, today social media has emerged as an active medium of engagement and has added more vigour to press freedom.

India slips to fourth place in ICC T20 cricket ranking

New Delhi:India have dropped two places to slip to fourth position in the ICC Twenty20 International team rankings following the annual update on May 1. Having dropped six points, India are now on 118 points, three behind second placed England and third placed Pakistan -- both of whom are on 121 points each.

Pakistan joined England on 121 after earning five points. However, they are a rank behind England by a fraction of a point. England climbed up three places after gaining seven points but are still four points behind table-topper New Zealand, who are on 125 points despite dropping two points.

South Africa lost two places to be at fifth spot after conceding six points, but are a point ahead of Australia. Australia have swapped places with reigning ICC World Twenty20 champions, the West Indies.

West Indies are on 14 points ahead of 2014 winner and eighth-ranked Sri Lanka (95 points, down by four). Bangladesh are ranked 10th on 78 points after gaining four points, while Zimbabwe have retained 12th position. Australia and the next nine highest-ranked sides on the T20I Team Rankings will qualify automatically for the ICC World Twenty20 2020, which will be staged in Australia.

Six sides will qualify from the qualifier to complete the 16-team line-up
