New Delhi:In a setback to Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, an Allahabad High Court bench comprising Justices Umesh Chandra Srivastava and Ramesh Sinha has restrained a Gorakhpur court from passing any order on the closure report submitted by state government in a 2007 hate speech case. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been named among others in the case.

New Delhi:Difference of opinion surfaced among the counsels of Delhi Chiref Minister ArvindKejriwal,led by veteran Ram Jethmalani, in the defamation case filed against the former by Union Finance Minister ArunJaitley. On Wednesday,the court of the joint registrar (judicial) in the Delhi High Court witnessed tense scenes as at one stage, the court noted that Jethmalani had called Jaitley a “crook”.
Raising “serious objections”, Jaitley and his counsels, senior advocates Rajiv Nayar and SandeepSethi, called for a “definite statement” on whether the word “crook” was used by Jethmalani in his personal capacity or on instructions of his client, Kejriwal.

New Delhi:Ignoring warning of not using a worn-out foot bridge over river Zuari in Margoa (Goa) proved fatal for at least 10 persons. The tragedy took place at Sanvordem, 60km from Panaji, after a 30-metre span of a steel footbridge adjacent to an old bridge collapsed on Thursday evening.
One body was fished out of the waters late night by fire brigade personnel and six people were rescued.

In Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan army again resorted to shelling and firing on forward posts and civilian areas along Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district last night. Nearly 1,700 people have been evacuated from shelling-hit areas.
Official sources said, initially, Pakistan army resorted to firing with automatic and semi-automatic weapons but later used 120mm and 82 mm mortars, leading to panic among the villagers, who were still putting up in their houses.
