Hurriyat suspends leader for accepting that he received money from Pak

New Delhi:Hurriyat Conference on Saturday suspended National Front chairman Nayeem Ahmad Khan after sting operation in which he had admitted to have received money from Pakistan for subversive activities in Kashmir. He was suspended from the basic membership of moderate Hurriyat Conference with immediate effect. Referring to a video clip telecast by a New Delhi based TV Channel, the spokesman said, the Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani said that media are attempting to defame the present movement.

Allahabad HC to Yogi Govt: No bail for repeat offenders

New Delhi:The Allahabad High Court has directed the Uttar Pradesh government to take stringent measures to crack down on hardcore criminals and mafias. The court has directed the Principal Secretary (Home) and Director General of Police in the state to issue an advisory and circular in this regard within two months so that criminals who repeatedly commit offense do not get bail. The order was passed by Chief Justice DB Bhosale and Justice YashwantVerma, on two petitions in which muscleman and former MP, Atique Ahmad and former MLA, DevendraAgrawal are accused.

NIA in Srinagar, to quiz Hurriyat leaders over ‘subversive activities’

The National Investigation Agency, NIA, reached Srinagar today to quiz Hurriyat leaders Syed Ali Shah Geelani and three others, alleged to be involved in subversive activities and receiving funds from LeT chief Hafiz Saeed. 
Earlier, the NIA had registered a preliminary enquiry against Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Naeem Khan, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Gazi Javed Baba and others.

India to build 75 new roads for better connectivity on border with China

New Delhi:Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday asked border guarding force Indo Tibetan Border Police and governments of five states bordering China to remain vigilant against transgression along the Sino-Indian border. Addressing the meeting of the Chief Ministers of five States having boundaries with China namely Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh at Gangtok, Singh said,  state governments should undertake developmental activities along the 3,488-km long Sino-Indian border so that people living in these areas do not have to migrate.

Woman chops off man’s genitals prevent rape

A 23-year-old woman cut off the genitals of a man when he allegedly tried to rape her at her home in Pettah in the city late last night. After the incident, the 54-year-old man, an inmate of an ashram in Kollam, was rushed to the government medical college hospital with critical injuries in the wee hours.
After an emergency surgery, his condition is stable, according to a hospital release.
The woman in her complaint stated that the accused has been known to her family for the past few years and has been harassing her since she was a minor, police said.
