Indian Navy’s vessel Sumitra drops rescued Bangladeshis at Chittagong

New Delhi:Indian Navy’s patrol vessel INS Sumitra reached Chittagong on Thursday morning and handed over the 33 Bangladeshis rescued a day after cyclone Mora lashed the Bangladesh coast. 
Indian High Commissioner Harsh VardhanSringla handed them over to Chittagong Deputy Commissioner DC Zillur. Indian envoy also handed over some relief material consisting mostly of food stuff, medicines and tents routinely carried by INS Sumitra while on patrol.

Jadhav to be executed only after exhaustion of all mercy pleas, says Pak

New Delhi:Days after the International Court of Justice, ICJ, stayed KulbhushanJadhav's death sentence, Pakistan said on Thursday  that the Indian national would not be executed until he has exhausted his mercy appeals.
Foreign Office spokesman NafeesZakaria released a statement which he claimed was aimed at addressing certain misrepresentations made in the Indian media following the ICJ's provisional measures order of 18th May in the Jadhav case. Jadhav has the right to request for clemency, initially with the Chief of the Army Staff and later with the Pakistan President.

IAF declares pilots Pankaj, Achudev of crashed Sukhoi dead

New Delhi:Indian Air Force has informed that two pilots of the crashed Sukhoi 30 jet have not survived. Both the pilots had suffered fatal injuries, when the aircraft crashed nearly 60 Km from Tezpur Airbase on 23rd of last month. 
The Defence Ministry in a statement on Wednesday said, analysis of the Flight Data Recorder and certain other articles recovered from the crash site revealed that Squadron leader D Pankaj and Flight Lieutenant S Achudev could not initiate ejection before the crash.

Modi, Putin annual summit meet at St Petersberg today

New Delhi:Prime Minister NarendraModi will attend the 18th Indo-Russia Annual Summit today. He arrived in Russian city of St.Petersberg last night after visiting Spain. The summit envisages closer economic ties between the two countries as Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin will interact with the business leaders and review the decisions taken during the summit in Goa, October last year.

Govt notification doesn’t ban beef consumption, says Kerala HC

New Delhi:The Kerala High Court on Wednesday declined to entertain a PIL seeking quashing of notification of Centre banning sale and purchase of cattle for slaughter. The court observed that there was no constitutional violation in the rules. A division bench headed by Chief Justice Navaniti Prasad Singh observed that its interference in the notification of Centre was not warranted.
