CBSE class X results announced for 5 regions; huge dip in pass percentage

New Delhi:The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)results announced on Saturday shows a dip in the pass percentage. The CBSE on Saturday announced Class X results for Allahabad, Chennai, Delhi, Dehradun and Trivandrum regions. The CBSE website has clarified that results for the remaining regions will be declared soon. 
The pass percentage in CBSE Class X exam declined to 90.95 per cent from 96.21 per cent last year, registering dip of over 5 per cent. Nearly 16.67 lakh students appeared for the examination this year.

New Delhi:Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) will announce class 10th results this afternoon. Nearly 16.67 lakh students have appeared for the examination this year.
The students can check their results on the official website of the board- www.cbseresults.nic.in and also on www.cbse.nic.in and www.results.nic.in.

Terror angle ruled out 36 dead in Manila casino shootout

New Delhi:At least 36 bodies have been found in a casino and hotel complex in Manila (Philippines), following a shooting incident by a gunman. 
National police chief, Ronald dela Rosa said at a press conference in Manila that the gunman began shooting at TV monitors in Resorts World Manila in the early hours on Friday, with an assault rifle, sending terrified patrons fleeing. He said, more than 54 people also suffered injuries, some of them seriously.

Indian origin Varadkar to be the first gay Prime Minister of Ireland

New Delhi:Leo Varadkar is set to become the Republic of Ireland's next Prime Minister after winning the leadership of the Fine Gael party. The 38-year-old will become the first gay Prime Minister and will also be the country's youngest ever leader. 
Varadkar beat his rival, Housing Minister Simon Coveney, with 60 per cent of the votes to lead Fine Gael - the biggest party in the coalition government.

Following bomb attack, Kabul cancels cricket series with Pakistan

New Delhi:The repercussions casued by the deadly bomb attack in Kabul on Wednesday has destabilised sporting ties between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Afghanistan, according to media reports, have cancelled proposed home and away cricket fixtures with Pakistan after the deadly bomb attack allegedly backed by Islamabad.
The development leaves Pakistan cricketers even more isolated in the region.India has refused to play a full series since the 2008 Mumbai attacks, while ties with fellow Test team Bangladesh have also soured after Pakistan pulled out of a planned series in July.
