Rawat asks newly inducted officers to be ready for ‘non-traditional’ challenges

New Delhi: Chief of Army Staff, General, Bippin Rawat reviewed the passing out Parade of the Indian Military Academy on Saturday. As many as 490 Gentleman Cadets (GCs) including 67 foreign GCs from ten friendly countries passed out from the Academy at Dehradun on Saturday.

The Gentleman Cadets displayed tremendous enthusiasm, vigour and zeal, putting up an excellent show, marching with pride and élan. Out of 423 GCs who have commissioned into the Indian Army, the highest number of 74 GCs is from Uttar Pradesh followed by 49 from Haryana and 40 from Uttarakhand.

Cow is substitute to Mother: Hyderabad Judge

New Delhi:After few days when Rajasthan High Court recommended that Cow should be declared as the national animal of India, a Hyderabad high court judge on Friday called the cow a “substitute to Mother and God”. 
Announcing this order, Justice Rao said that, “Whether a person is entitled to claim interim custody of cows and bulls seized from him when he was allegedly taking them to a slaughter house? This question needs to be posed and answered in view of the national importance of cows which are substitutes to Mother and God”.

Top Naga Militant, SS Khaplang Leader of NSCN Died at 77

New Delhi:Chairman of Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang) S SKhaplang, died following a cardiac arrest at Takka in Kachin state of Myanmar last night.  The leader of the Naga rebel group - NSCN-K, who had been ailing for quite some time, died at the age of 77. 
NSCN-K has been involved in the killing of 18 Army soldiers in an ambush in Manipur on June 4, 2015. Following this, the Indian Army carried out cross-border raids on NSCN-K camps located inside Myanmar killing several militants.

5 terrorists killed in J&K as infiltration bid foiled along LoC

New Delhi:On Friday, the Army killed 5 militants near the Line of Control (LoC) as it foiled fifth infiltration bid from Pakistan into Kashmir in three days.A high alert has also been sounded along the LoC.
This is the third infiltration attempt by terrorists in last 24 hours in Uri sector alone and the seventh such along the LoC in less than a fortnight in north Kashmir.

INDO-MAURITIUS RELATIONSHIP IS OF HEARTS AND SENTIMENTS: LOK SABHA SPEAKER

New Delhi:  Lok Sabha Speaker, Sumitra Mahajan, who is leading an Indian Parliamentary Delegation to Mauritius, called on the President of Mauritius Bibi Ameenah Gurib-Fakim in the State House (Rashtrapati Bhavan).  During the call-on, Sumitra Mahajan said that India and Mauritius have historically enjoyed excellent, unique and extra-ordinary relations.  Observing that Indo-Mauritius relationship is of hearts and sentiments, she said that the two countries are connected by strong cultural links and shared heritage.  She noted that Mauritius is a home away for Indians.
