#UttarPradesh: BJP Leadership to Stand with Yogi

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath has no threat to his office. There have been speculations that Yogi will be asked to quit before the 2022 Assembly elections but the top leadership of the BJP is 'fully satisfied' with Yogi’s work and he has full support of the leadership -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda, which feels Yogi has given the best performance as a chief minister.

After spending two days in Delhi, Yogi Adityanath has gone back to Lucknow. Modi has himself been a chief minister for more than 12 years and is aware of the challenges Yogi Adityanath faces as the chief minister of the large state like UP. Source says that PM Modi is happy with Yogi who is heading the government in UP since 2017 and, according to him, is the best chief minister in the country.

#Covid-19Vaccination: Centre Orders For 44 Crore Doses, After Change in Covid Vaccine Policy

Forty-four crore doses of Covid vaccines will be made available to the country from August, the government today said amid a raging shortage that has forced a closure of vaccine centres in many states. These doses will be delivered between August and December 2021, the Union Health Ministry said.

The health ministry announcement -- that orders have been placed for 25 crore doses of Covishield and 19 crore doses of Covaxin to achieve universalization of vaccination -- came a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a fresh vaccine policy.

The new policy takes back the onus of vaccine purchase from the states. The finance ministry said today that the new programme will cost around ₹ 50,000 crore and the Centre has the necessary funds.
