#PM Modi To Disburse 15th Pm-Kisan Tranche In Jharkhand Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Wednesday release the 15th instalment of PM-KISAN, a cash-transfer scheme for poor farmers, at Jharkhand’s Khunti, according to an official statement.

At the event, Modi will disburse nearly ₹18,000 crore to 80 million farmers through direct benefit transfer. In the 14th instalment, nearly 80.5 million farmers had received ₹17,000 crore in their bank accounts in July.

In a strong push to tribal outreach ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on November 15 launch a Rs 24,000-crore scheme aimed at holistic development of 'particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTG)' at a programme in Jharkhand. The PM will be on a two-day visit to Jharkhand starting November 14.

On the second day of his visit, the PM will pay homage to tribal icon Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary - observed as 'Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas' since 2021. Modi will be the first PM to visit Munda's birthplace Ulihatu.

A thick toxic haze or 'smog' returned to Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and surrounding places on Monday morning, after people burst crackers on Diwali night, violating the Supreme Court's ban order, leading to heavy pollution all across the National Capital Region – which has been already battling with its deteriorating air quality.

Visuals from across Delhi showed thick haze covering the roads, significantly reducing visibility and making it difficult to see beyond a few hundred metres.

Israel has officially revised down the death toll from the October 7 Hamas attack to 1,200, as announced by a spokesperson from the Israeli Foreign Ministry. Israel previously said that at least 1,400 people were killed in the surprise assault by Hamas militants who control the Gaza Strip. However, Israeli foreign ministry spokesperson Lior Hayat in a statement critical of Unesco said that Hamas murdered "about 1,200 people". Haiat separately confirmed the new toll which he said "might change" when all the bodies have been identified, reported AFP.
