#Cyclone Biparjoy: Landfall Process Starts With Wind Velocity Of 115-125 Kmph, To Continue Till Midnight, Says IMD

The landfall process of Cyclone Biparjoy has started in the Saurashtra and Kutch regions of Gujarat and will continue till midnight, the India Meteorological Department said. The cyclone will be crossing Saurashtra & Kutch and adjoining Pakistan coasts between Mandvi (Gujarat) and Karachi (Pakistan) near Jakhau Port (Gujarat) by tonight. Scroll down for latest updates!

While the areas of Kachchh, Devbhumi Dwarka & Jamnagar will witness light to moderate rainfall, very heavy showers are expected in Porbandar, Rajkot, Morbi and Junagarh districts of Gujarat. #Cyclone Biparjoy: IMD Issues Red Alert For Saurashtra, Kutch Coasts; Heavy Rainfall Hits Gujarat

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday sounded a Red alert as cyclone 'Biparjoy' warning for the Saurashtra and Kutch coasts in Gujarat.

It is very likely to move nearly northeastwards and cross Saurashtra and Kutch and adjoining Pakistan coasts between Mandvi (Gujarat) and Karachi (Pakistan) near Jakhau Port (Gujarat) by the evening of June 15, informed the IMD.

"Cyclone Warning for Saurashtra and Kutch Coasts: RED MESSAGE. VSCS BIPARJOY at 0530IST of today over NE Arabian Sea near lat 21.9N and long 66.3E, about 280km WSW of Jakhau Port (Gujarat), 290km WSW of Devbhumi Dwarka," tweeted IMD.

National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday announced results of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate or NEET UG 2023. This time, two students – Prabhanjan J of Tamil Nadu and Bora Varun Chakravarthi of Andhra Pradesh have topped the medical entrance exam with a score of 720 out of 720.

#CoWin Portal Safe, Says Centre, Calls Data Leak Reports "Mischievous"

The Centre has  assured that data in the CoWin portal -- the country's Covid-19 vaccination tracking platform -- is completely safe, following reports that personal information of people registered on the portal has been breached. The reports, the Centre said, are "mischievous". 

"Co-WIN portal of Health Ministry is completely safe with safeguards for data privacy... Only OTP authentication-based Access of Data is provided," read a statement from the Union Health Ministry.

Sensitive personal details of politicians, bureaucrats, and others have been leaked on the social media platform Telegram, reported data-driven news portal South Asia Index in a series of tweets this morning.

The very severe cyclonic storm Biparjoy turned into an extremely severe cyclonic storm at 5.30 am Sunday. However, it may not hit Gujarat as per the current forecast, said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official on Saturday.
