#Tripura: 6 Dead, 15 Injured As Chariot Catches Fire During Rath Yatra In Tripura

Six people died and 15 others were injured as a Rath caught fire after coming in contact with a high-tension wire in Tripura's Unakoti district on Wednesday, police said. The incident happened around 4.30 pm in Kumarghat area during the 'Ulta Rath Yatra' festival of Lord Jagannath, they said. During this festival, the sibling deities -- Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhdara and Lord Jagannath -- return to their abode, a week after Rath Yatra.

#BJP At Centre For 6 More Months, Lok Sabha Polls In Feb-Mar 2024: Mamata

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday claimed that the BJP-led government at the Centre will last for six more months as the Lok Sabha polls will be held in February-March next year.

Addressing a rally in Jalpaiguri district for the panchayat elections, Banerjee said the BSF must work impartially as the BJP "may not be in power tomorrow".

"The next Lok Sabha polls will be held in February–March next year. The tenure of the BJP government is just six months. Sensing defeat, the BJP is not trying to lobby various groups and communities," she claimed.

#India Summons Pakistani Diplomat Over Sikh Community Attacks, Lodges Strong Protest

Following the recent attacks on members of the Sikh community in Pakistan, India summoned a senior diplomat from the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi and lodged a strong protest against the incidents, sources said on Monday.

Between April and June 2023, four such incidents have taken place and India has taken serious note of these events.
