The Congress on Thursday hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he dubbed the INDIA bloc parties as "ghamandia", accusing him of using a government function to abuse the opposition.

"The PM is back to doing what he does best-insult. He repeated his abuse of INDIA parties as so-called Ghamandia parties," Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said on X.

With enthusiasm and vigor, BJP workers on Wednesday gave a grand welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at party headquarters in New Delhi, days after the success of the recently concluded G20 Summit.

The meeting of party’s on the Central Election Committee (CEC) on the 2023 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections began after PM Modi’s arrival. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda among others were present in the meeting.

Earlier, the committee had met on August 16, following which candidates were announced for 39 constituencies in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh and 21 in Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh. The seats announced do not have sitting MLAs from the BJP.

#Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya Confirms Two Nipah Virus Deaths In Kerala

Two deaths reported from Kerala's Kozhikode district were caused by Nipah virus, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Tuesday.

He said a central team of experts has been sent to Kerala to take stock of the situation and assist the State government in the management of the Nipah virus infection.

According to official sources, samples of four more people from Kerala have been sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune to test for the deadly virus.
