Road in Moga district Punjab named after Sonu Sood’s mother

An emotional Sonu Sood on Thursday shared a heartwarming post about a road being dedicated in the name of his late mother, Saroj Sood.

The road, now called Prof Saroj Sood Road, is located in the actor’s hometown Moga, where the family spent their early days.

Sharing a photo of the board bearing his mother’s name, Sonu Sood wrote on Instagram, “A visual that I dreamt of all my life. Today a road in my home town Moga has been named after my mom: Prof Saroj Sood Road. The same road by which she traveled all her life. From home to college and then back home. This will always be the most important chapter of my life. I am sure my mom and Dad must be smiling somewhere from the heavens. I wish they were around to see this. I thank Mr Harjot Kamal, Mr Sandeep Hans and Mrs Anita Darshi mam for making this possible.”

Gracy Singh Stayed Away From B’wood Despite Doing Lagaan & Munna Bhai M.B.B.S

Best known for blockbuster films like Lagaan, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S, and Gangajal, actress Gracy Singh has stayed away from the silver screen for almost a decade now. Despite being awarded the best female debut and the most promising newcomer in 2002 for Lagaan, not once but thrice, the actress didn’t have a long stint in Bollywood. 

Recently, in an interview with to an agency, the 40-year-old opened up about her conscious decision of staying away from the Hindi film industry. Talking about why she didn’t strive for more work in films, she said, “I had worked 7-8 years in films and yes, it was largely centered around regional films. But to answer your question, no, I have no such ambitions. The problem arises when you have certain expectations. I always live in the present. I have done two of the biggest films and trust me, I knew from the word 'Go' that both Lagaan and Munna Bhai M.B.B.S will work in a big way. Both will also be remembered for the longest time. They were unbelievable films (sic).”

Rajinikanth scripts anti-climax to his political dreams, backs out

In an anti-climax to his much-awaited political plunge, southern superstar Rajinikanth on Tuesday announced his decision to back out citing his health condition. He even described it as a sign from God to not pursue it further.

In a three page letter posted on his Twitter handle, Rajinikanth said despite severe precautions taken at the shooting of "Annatthe" movie four persons tested positive for coronavirus.

The actor said while he tested negative for Coronavirus, his blood pressure fluctuated and hence was hospitalised in Hyderabad.

Rajinikanth said the doctors had advised him that fluctuating blood pressure will affect his transplanted kidney.

Actor Vijay meets TN CM Palaniswami on ‘Master’ movie release

Kollywood actor Vijay met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Sunday night urging Tamil Nadu government’s help ahead of the release of his next movie Master. The movie starring Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Andrea Jeremiah, Malavika Mohanan and Arjun Das, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Xavier Britto is slated to be the biggest release in Tamil post the pandemic.

According to reports, Vijay asked the CM to allow 100% seating capacity at the theaters. In a private meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence, the actor along with others from the movie’s team requested the Chief Minister increase the capacity as against the current capacity of 50% seating at theaters.

The Tamil Nadu government recently reopened theatres and allowed 50% seating capacity by following physical distancing norms post complete lockdown due to the spread of coronavirus. Master’s release was also postponed due to the lockdown induced by the coronavirus spread. Vijay’s contemporary Suriya chose an OTT release for his movie Soorarai Pottru, however it’s been known from the beginning that Vijay wanted only a theatrical release for his movie.

Time for female actors to get respected, says Actor Manoj Vajpayee

Actor Manoj Bajpayee feels it is time for female actors to get respect for their talent, and says even the male counterparts are also looking for a situation where everybody gets what they deserve.

"It's a time for female actors to get and be respected for what they are and what they can deliver," Manoj said.

"This is something that only they were looking for but we as male counterparts were also looking for a situation like this where everybody is getting what they deserve," he added.
