On the plea of petitioner Baburao Shah, the film Gangubai Kathiawadi's actress Alia Bhatt, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and writer of the film have been summoned by the Mumbai court. The court has asked all the above-mentioned to appear before it on May 21.

The petitioner Baburao Shah, who is the son of Gangubai Kathiawadi, has alleged that his family is being disreputed in the film, adding that it shows many wrong facts.

For the unversed, the film is based on a book written by Hussain Zaidi titled 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai'. 

Filmmaker Rumy Jafry, who directs Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in the film 'Chehre', feels both actors were apt for the project.

Talking about Big B, Rumy said it was his honour to have got the chance to direct him. The director said, "The best part about working with Amit ji is that he makes people around him comfortable, It's like one won't feel that one is around 'the legendary Amitabh Bachchan'. He makes a smooth bond and connection with co-stars. So, while shooting all the scenes, the chemistry looks effortless." 

Rumy further added, "I think there won't be even a single person in our industry who wouldn't want to work with Amitabh Bachchan. I feel fortunate that I got an opportunity to work with him as a writer in my early days. The first film I did as a director was with Amit ji back in 2008. Now, with 'Chehre', I am happy that I got an opportunity to direct him again."

Chhichhore emerged as the Best Film (Hindi) at the 67th National Film Awards on Monday. The win of Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor starrer, which is about not giving in to despair and accepting life’s curveballs, is bittersweet for its team. Sushant’s death in June last year left India shocked, with many are still demanding ‘justice’ for him.

Film’s producer Sajid Nadiadwala dedicated the award to Sushant. “On the behalf of NGE I dedicate this extremely prestigious award to Sushant Singh Rajput. We can’t get over his loss ever but I sincerely pray that this award gives a little bit of happiness to his family and fans which includes me. And I am tremendously grateful to Nitesh Tiwari for giving us all this very special movie,” he said.

Actor filmmaker Satish Kaushik has been shifted to a Mumbai hospital, just days after he revealed that he had tested positive for coronavirus. He has been admitted in the Kokilaben Hospital, Mumbai.

Confirming that Satish is recovering well, his spokesperson said in a statement, "Satish ji was planning to get vaccinated for Covid-19, however when he got tested after experiencing some weakness, he tested positive. He quarantined at home for two days, but he decided to get admitted at the hospital for proper medical care."

"He is grateful to his family, friends and well-wishers who are praying for his speedy recovery,” the statement further said.

John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi's Mumbai Saga released today, March 19. Set in 80s and 90s, Mumbai Saga is a gangster drama helmed by Sanjay Gupta. The film is receiving rave reviews on the Internet. Cinephiles are loving the amped-up dialogues and action sequences in the film. The performances of John and Emraan is also being loved by their fans.

On Thursday, the Bombay High Court had refused a stay on the release of Mumbai Saga. Gangster DK Rao, alias Ravi Bohra, and the family members of don Amar Naik and his brother Ashwin Naik had filed a petition for a stay on the release of the film.

Calling Mumbai Saga a powerful punch, one Twitter user wrote, "MOVIE REVIEW- Movie can be remembered for its Power packed punch and dialogue, #JohnAbraham excel in is his dialogue delivery , #EmraanHashmi is prefect choice for the role. @TheJohnAbraham @emraanhashmi.
