Samantha Ruth Prabhu's portrayal as Raji, an unwavering Sri Lankan Tamil liberation fighter on a suicide mission in the recently-released series The Family Man 2, opened to largely stellar reviews from both the critics as well as the audiences. However, a section of the Internet flagged concern over the visibly darker skin tone that Samantha sported in the series. In a recent interview with Film Companion,The Family Man 2 show runners Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK explained the reason behind turning Samantha's skin tone several noticeable shades browner because "her character demanded that she had to be fit, because she's a military person." They also stated that as "responsible filmmakers," they wanted to establish that the idea was not to propagate any context of beauty or race. It was as simple as what the character demanded.

Actor Saira Banu on Monday took to Twitter to share an health update about her husband and legendary actor Dilip Kumar. She also urged fans not to believe in rumours surrounding the health of the 98-year-old Bollywood actor.

Saira Banu’s note read, “Past few days my beloved husband, Yousuf Khan, has been unwell and recuperating at a hospital in Mumbai. Through this note, I want to thank all of you for keeping him in your prayers and for all the love and affection. My husband, my Kohinoor, our Dilip Kumar Sahab’s health is stable and doctors have assured me that he should be discharged soon. I urge you to not believe in rumors. While I ask you to pray for Sahab’s health, I am praying that the Almighty keep all of you safe and healthy during this pandemic. Sincerely Saira Banu Khan.”

Actress Sonali Bendre took to Instagram on Sunday to share a picture of herself during the time she was battling cancer.

As the world celebrates Cancer Survivors Day on June 6, the actress said that she won't let the illness ever define her. Sonali was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in 2018 and was treated for it in New York. She battled the illness and emerged victorious eventually.

The actress put up a picture of herself from days in hospital and merged it with her current, happy self.

Those who have binged on the first season of The Family Man, deservedly one of the highest-rated Indian web shows ever, know full well what to expect from the second. So, does Season 2 of the Amazon Prime Video series created by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK deliver on the promise? It does. Does it surpass the fantastic first season in terms of excitement and intrinsic effervescence? Not quite.

The Family Man S2 is buoyed by an as-magnetic-as-ever central performance by Manoj Bajpayee and a sharp-as-a-needle star turn by Samantha Akkineni in the role of an unwavering Sri Lankan Tamil liberation fighter on a suicide mission. The show, however, takes a while - in fact, quite a while - to lay all its key pieces out on the table. The build-up to the business end of the show is slow and deliberate. But if you hang in there long enough, you'll do yourself a favour. The final act and the run-up to it do pack quite a punch.

Actor Dhanush’s upcoming Tamil film Jagame Thandhiram on Thursday got a Twitter emoji ahead of its release on Netflix. This is the second Tamil film after Master to get a Twitter emoji this year.

Jagame Thandhiram, which has been directed by Karthik Subbaraj, will premiere on June 18.

The trailer of the film was released earlier this week. It introduced Dhanush as a gangster from Madurai who travels to London to lock horns with a local gangster, played by James Cosmo. It appears as though they share a relationship that has turned bitter. The film will track Dhanush’s journey as a gangster from Madurai to London.
