Saif Ali Khan’s Bhoot Police poster faces ire for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments

Saif Ali Khan invited trouble for himself a day after the poster of his upcoming film Bhoot Police debuted online. The actor’s wife Kareena Kapoor unveiled the first look poster on Instagram which did not go down well with a certain section.

The actor has now found himself in the middle of controversy as the poster came under the radar. Saif is seen wearing a black jacket paired with a shirt and is holding a weapon that seems to be his aid to catch ghosts. Eagle-eyed netizens have accused the makers of allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments when the presence of a Hindu saint in the background of the poster was called into question. Several social media users lashed out alleging that it is an attempt to defame Hindutva. Many others have appealed to demand the boycott of Saif’s film.

Indian Army firing range named after Bollywood actress Vidya Balan

The Indian Army has named one of its firing ranges in Kashmir after Bollywood actress Vidya Balan. The Vidya Balan firing range is situated at Gulmarg in the Baramulla district of Jammu & Kashmir.

The decision was taken in recognition of her contribution to Indian cinema, reports say. Earlier in the year, the actress and her husband Siddharth Roy Kapoor had attended the Gulmarg Winter Festival organised by the Indian Army.

People on social media, however, are not happy over the matter and believe that the firing range could be named after someone more appropriate.

Rishi Kapoor had refused to act with Amitabh Bachchan, demanded his replacement, reveals Tinnu Anand

Actor-filmmaker Tinnu Anand has revealed in an interview that he struggled to make his directorial debut, 1979 actioner Duniya Meri Jeb Mein, despite getting Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor -- two of the biggest stars then -- on board. Tinnu, who was making his directorial debut with the film, said Rishi Kapoor refused to work with Bachchan a day after saying yes to the film.

"My brother Bittu was a producer and we were not financially secure to make a film like Duniya Meri Jeb Mein. So, we had to listen to the whims and fancies of the actors. Like when I told Rishi Kapoor that I was going to narrate the story to Amitabh Bachchan, he was very happy. That night he went to a party of the film Zinda Dil and when his cameraman-director Sudarshan Nag asked him what was he feeling so happy about, he told him that the next day he and Amitabh would sign on the dotted line to act in Tinnu's film," the director told ETimes.
