Film producer Atlas Ramachandran passes away following cardiac arrest

Film producer and noted NRI businessman MM Ramachandran popularly known as Atlas Ramachandran passed away on Sunday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dubai.

Chairman of Atlas group of companies, he was aged 80 following a cardiac arrest. He was admitted to the Bur Dubai Aster Mankhool Hospital on Saturday night with chest pain.

Born in 1942, in Kerala’s Thrissur district, Ramachandran gained prominence and became a household name among Malayalis because of the way he delivered the tag line of his jewelry chain – Atlas Jewellery,  janakodikalude vishwastha sthapanam (the trusted name of crores of people).

Ponniyin Selvan box office collection Day 2: Chiyaan Vikram's film hits bull's eye, mints Rs 150 crore globally

Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan is one of the most important releases of the film. The film, which released on September 30 and clashed with Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan's Vikram Vedha, has touched the Rs 150 mark already on worldwide box office.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan released on September 30. The film, which stars Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles, is doing exceptionally well at the box office. As per trade analyst Ramesh Bala, the film has already touched Rs 150 crore on the worldwide box office. His tweet reads, "In 2 days, #PS1 has grossed more than 150 Crs at the WW Box office (sic)."

Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal "are finally celebrating" their union with family and friends

Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, who flew to Delhi for their pre-wedding festivities on Wednesday, shared a special audio message a day later. The note began with these words: "You've reached the voicemail of Richa and Ali." It was followed by an audio note by the couple, which said, "We have a message for you. Two years ago, we formalised our union and just then the pandemic hit us all, pressing a pause button on our celebrations and life." Ali Fazal added, "Like the rest of the nation, we two were struck by personal tragedies one after another. Now as we all enjoy this window of respite we are finally celebrating with our families and friends and we are so very touched for all the love and blessings that are coming our way. We offer you nothing but our love. Thank you."

Arrest warrant against Ekta Kapoor, her mother over her web series 'XXX'

A court in Bihar's Begusarai on Wednesday issued arrest warrants against Ekta Kapoor, film producer and director, and her mother Shobha Kapoor on charges of insulting soldiers and hurting the sentiments of their family members in her web series 'XXX' (Season-2).

The court of judge Vikas Kumar issued the warrant on the basis of a complaint lodged by Shambhu Kumar, an ex-serviceman and a resident of Begusarai.

Kumar, in his complaint in 2020, had alleged that series 'XXX' (Season-2) featured several objectionable scenes related to a soldier's wife.
