Actor Ram Charan is busy interacting with the local media in the USA ahead of the prestigious Academy Awards ceremony, scheduled to take place on March 12, 2023. In a recent interaction with Letterboxd, a popular social platform for discussing movies, the actor revealed his all-time favourite movies.

The RRR actor said that he loved The Notebook, Terminator 2, Gladiator and Inglorious Basterds. Regarding Indian films, he said that Dana Veera Soora Karna, Mr India, Baahubali and Rangasthalam are his favourite films. He also said that he used to watch James Cameron’s Terminator 2 twice a week and watched it more than 50 times to date. He also mentioned that he loves all Quentin Tarantino’s movies.

SS Rajamouli is currently basking high on the international success of RRR and Naatu Naatu getting nominated for Oscars 2023. The song composed by MM Keeravani also won the Golden Globes 2023 in the Best Original Song category. The PAN (popular-across-nation) blockbuster became a huge commercial hit in Japan and USA. The film delves into the human emotions of brotherhood and sacrifice, set in the backdrop of pre-Independence India during the British period. Since, the film also focuses on the concept of nationalism and references from ancient Indian texts and stories, Rajamouli was asked about his political perspective. The filmmaker clarified that his films have nothing to do with any "hidden agenda" or motive. He said that his movies are meant for the people who spend their hard-earned money for entertainment.

Selfiee, starring Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi, had a poor first weekend and earned a little over ₹10 crore nett. The Hindi film is a remake of the 2019 Malayalam film, Driving Licence, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu. It is the latest Hindi film of Akshay's to underperform at the box office after Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan and Ram Setu last year. 

Directed by Raj Mehta, Selfiee made ₹2.60 crore on Friday and earned ₹3.75 crore on Saturday. On Sunday, it only managed to earn ₹3.85 crore. According to trade website Box Office India, its first weekend collections stand at ₹10.20 crore net approximately.

Joseph Manu James, a young filmmaker from Kerala whose breakthrough movie was scheduled to be released, passed away at a hospital in Aluva, in the district of Ernakulam on February 24. 31-year-old was brought to the Rajagiri Hospital, where a staff member reported that he had pneumonia.

Ahaana Krishna and Arjun Ashokan starred in Manu's first movie, Nancy Rani, which was scheduled to arrive in theatres soon. Ahaana wrote on an Instagram story, "Rest in peace Manu! This shouldn't have happened to you!" 

The movie, which was in the post-production stage, also features senior actors like Ahana Krishnakumar, Arjun Ashokan, Aju Varghese, Sreenivasan, Indrans, Sunny Wayne, Lene, Lal and others. Offering his condolences, Aju shared a photo of Joseph on his Instagram and wrote, " "Gone too soon brother".

Recently, a fan trying to click a selfie with Sonu Nigam at a concert resulted in a major scuffle, a police case and made headlines for several days. Cricketer Prithvi Shaw is currently locked in a legal battle with a social media influencer, who got into a major fight with the player and allegedly vandalised his car after he refused to click selfies with her.

In the age of Instagram likes, the act of clicking a selfie with a star is a much more serious matter than it should have been. The fan assumes the right to demand, and the star seems to have no right to refuse.
