Allahabad HC to Yogi Govt: No bail for repeat offenders

New Delhi:The Allahabad High Court has directed the Uttar Pradesh government to take stringent measures to crack down on hardcore criminals and mafias. The court has directed the Principal Secretary (Home) and Director General of Police in the state to issue an advisory and circular in this regard within two months so that criminals who repeatedly commit offense do not get bail. The order was passed by Chief Justice DB Bhosale and Justice YashwantVerma, on two petitions in which muscleman and former MP, Atique Ahmad and former MLA, DevendraAgrawal are accused.

While referring to a judgment of Supreme Court, the bench said, that repeat offenders should not be bailed out. The bench also said, bail of those who misuse it should also be abolished, so that people may trust the police and the judicial system.
