Bihar MLC Election Results 2022: BJP-JDU combine gets 13 seats, RJD wins 5

The alliance of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal United (JDU) is all set for a big win in Bihar MLC Elections 2022, which held on April 4 across 24 local authority constituencies. Till now, the BJP-JDU combine has won 13 seats while candidates backed by the RLD have bagged five seats, according to Dainik Jagran.

The Bihar MLC Elections 2022 were held on April 4 and an overall 97.84 per cent polling was recorded with the highest in Gopalganj (98.98) and the lowest in East Champaran (91.7). For 24 seats, 186 candidates from different parties were in the fray.

Here are the highlights from Bihar MLC Election Results 2022:

- Results of 18 seats declared till now

So far, the results of 18 seats have been declared. Out of the 18 seats, the BJP-JDU alliance has bagged 13 seats while the RJD-backed candidates have won five seats.

- Results of 17 seats that have come so far

So far the results of 17 seats have been declared. Of these, BJP got six, JDU four and RLJP one seat, while RJD has so far won four. Two independents have also won the Bihar MLC Elections 2022. The counting of votes is underway for eight seats.

- JDU candidate Rekha Kumari has won from Sitamarhi. However, its official announcement is awaited. There is an atmosphere of celebration in the JDU camp on her victory.

- On the victory of his party's candidate in Vaishali, Pashupati Paras described himself as the political successor of Ram Vilas Paswan.

- Rajiv Kumar of Congress is leading against Rajnish Kumar of BJP by 393 votes in Begusarai. On the other hand, Ajay Singh of RJD is leading in Saharsa.

- After Patna, Gaya and Munger, RJD's Saurav Kumar has won from West Champaran seat. He defeated Afaq Ahmed of Congress.

- RJD has captured the seats of Patna, Gaya and Munger. Anant Singh and Surendra Yadav have been influential in these seats.

- In Patna seat, RJD candidate Karthik Kumar defeated his nearest rival, Independent candidate Karmaveer Yadav. BJP's rebel independent candidate Satchidanand Rai has won from Chapra.

- NDA candidate Radha Charan has won the Bhojpur-Buxar seat. Independent Sachchidanand Rai has won the Chapra seat, while BJP's Ashok Agarwal has won the Katihar seat.

- RJD is leading in Gaya, while in Saharsa, there is a tussle between Nutan Singh of BJP and Ajay Singh of RJD. At present Nutan Singh is leading.

- RJD candidate Kumar Nagendra alias Rinku Yadav is leading over JDU's Manorama Devi by 400 votes on the Gaya-Jehanabad-Arwa seat. Congress candidate Rajiv Kumar is leading in Begusarai on the basis of first preference votes.

- Bihar MLC Election Result 2022: Winners so far

Dinesh Prasad Singh (Muzaffarpur), Reena Yadav (Nalanda) of JDU and Tarun Kumar (Samastipur) of BJP, Dr. Dilip Jaiswal (Purnia), Santosh Kumar (Kaimur). RJD's Ajay Singh has also won from Munger.

- JDU candidate Valmiki Singh leaves the counting centre in Patna. In the first preference, Karthik Kumar of RJD has got 1846 votes, and independent Karmaveer Yadav has got 1671 votes. RJD's Karthik Kumar leads by 175 votes over the nearest rival.

- RJD candidate Karthik Kumar's decisive lead for the post of Legislative Council member in Patna. The defeat of Valmiki Singh of JDU in Patna seems certain.

- In Siwan, RJD's Vinod Jaiswal got 1693 votes, independent Rais Khan got 1250 and BJP's Manoj Singh got 1093 votes.

- RJD ahead in West Champaran and Nawada

RJD's Saurav Kumar is leading in West Champaran by 300 votes. He is ahead of Congress, which is in second place and JDU in third place. Ashok Yadav of RJD is leading in Nawada against JDU's Salman Ragib.

- Dr. Dilip Jaiswal of BJP leads in Purnia

BJP supported candidate Dr. Dilip Jaiswal is leading in Purnia against RJD candidate.

- BJP leading by one vote from Gopalganj

BJP is leading from Gopalganj's Hathua block by one vote. BJP got 122 votes while RJD has received 121 votes so far. Independent candidate got one vote.

- NDA candidate Santosh Kumar Singh leading from Rohtas Kaimur

NDA candidate Santosh Kumar Singh is leading from Rohtas Kaimur. All eyes are on Satchidanand Rai from Chhapra.

- Dinesh Singh of JDU wins from Muzaffarpur

Dinesh Singh of JDU has won the Muzaffarpur seat. Dinesh Singh defeated Shambhu Singh of RJD. However, the official announcement is awaited.

- Section 144 implemented in Hajipur

Tight security arrangements have been made at the GA Inter College Vote Counting Center in Vaishali district headquarter Hajipur. Section 144 has been imposed in the area.

- Counting of votes underway in Madhubani amidst tight security

The decision of which candidate will be crowned in the Legislative Council elections held in Madhubani from the local authority quota is to be decided today. The counting of votes is going on from eight o'clock in the morning on Thursday at the RK College counting centre located at the district headquarters. A total of six candidates are trying their political luck. There are three parties and three independents. The party candidates include Binod Kumar Singh of JD(U) from NDA, Meraj Alam of RJD and Subodh Mandal of Congress.

- Among the NDA allies, BJP contested 12 seats followed by JD(U) on 11 seats, and Pashupati Paras' Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party on one seat.

- On the other hand, from the Opposition, RJD contested 23 seats while its ally CPI on the remaining one seat. The Congress also went solo and contested 16 seats out of 24.

- The legislative council of Bihar consists of a total of 75 seats. The current strength of members in the legislative council is 51 against the total strength of 75, as all 24 seats of the local authority category are vacant since July 2021.

- The term of office of 24 members had expired in July 2021. But elections could not be conducted as the constituent local bodies/electors were not in existence at that time, the commission said in its notification issued on March 2.
