MVA defeats BJP for post of Mumbai District Cooperative Bank president

Out of 20 votes, Kamble got 11 votes and Prasad Lad received 9 votes. The same didn't happen for the post of VP as one of the MVA voters voted for the BJP's candidate. As there was a tie, it was decided that the winner would be decided through the lottery process. Through a lottery, BJP's Vitthal Bhosale won against Ghosalkar.

After voting, Darekar said that the MVA abused its power to win the seat, "BJP had 10 votes, Vishnu Bhumbare split, so Mahavikas Aghadi got 11 votes. The state government pressured him. The direct attention of the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister created a lot of pressure. Mahavikas Aghadi won this election by abusing its power."

Interestingly, the Darekar-led Sahakar panel had won all 21 seats of the board members at the bank. Darekar had been under the scanner following complaints after he had contested elections under the labour category.
