He also said that, in view of Bhogali Bihu celebration, the state government has decided to relax the curfew timing by one hour on Uruka night.

"The curfew will be in place from 11 pm to 4 am for Uruka night and the next morning. The decision has been taken considering the people returning to their homes on Uruka night as well as going to the market on the next morning, especially to buy fish," Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

He also urged the people of the state to follow the Covid-19 guidelines issued by the government and to take vaccines.

Assam on Tuesday registered 2837 new Covid-19 positive cases with 5.69 per cent positivity rate and out of total cases, 870 cases were detected alone in Guwahati and Kamrup (Metro) district.
