In an order issued by Raj Bhavan, Kohima, the Governor said as Dr Shurhozelie did not attend the emergent Assembly Session convened today, it was clear that he has failed to obtain the Vote of Confidence. As such, the Governor Acharya, by the Constitutional power vested in him, has dismissed the Ministry headed by Dr. Shurhozelie with immediate effect.
