US Clamps down on Pakistan through Congress Act

In the first amendment, the bill requires the Secretary of Defence to certify that Islamabad is maintaining security along the Ground Lines of Communication through Pakistan.

In the second, it seeks to make sure if Pakistan is taking demonstrable steps to support counter terrorism operations and preventing cross-border attacks.

In the third amendment, the Defence Secretary also needs to certify that Pakistan is demonstrating commitment to prevent the Haqqani network from using North Waziristan as a safe haven.
