The fully air conditioned Tejas Express, announced in Railway Budget 2016, has a passenger capacity of 992 passengers. The bright yellow hi-tech train is fitted with 9-inch LED screens, wifi and revamped luxurious interiors.
Offering airline-like features, this train has reclining seats, smoke and fire detectors, bio-vacuum toilets, digital destination boards, integrated braille displays, USB charging facility and energy efficient LED lights.
Central Railway’s General Manager DK Sharma said that Tejas Express will run between Mumbai and Goa for five days a week during non-monsoon period and three days a week during monsoon by halting at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Ratnagiri and Kudal stations.
