New Delhi:Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday asked border guarding force Indo Tibetan Border Police and governments of five states bordering China to remain vigilant against transgression along the Sino-Indian border. Addressing the meeting of the Chief Ministers of five States having boundaries with China namely Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh at Gangtok, Singh said, state governments should undertake developmental activities along the 3,488-km long Sino-Indian border so that people living in these areas do not have to migrate.
The Home Minister also said, the problem of connectivity in these border areas pose several challenges and it needs to be overcome. Singh said, in the first stage Ministry of Home Affairs is building 27 roads near the border which will be completed by 2019-20 and approval is being given to 48 other roads.
