Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated Boeing's new global engineering and technology centre campus in Bengaluru. The event, which was also attended by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, saw the crowd cheering for the Prime Minister with 'Modi Modi' slogans.
"Mukhyamantri ji, aisa hota rehta hai (respected Chief Minister, this keeps happening)," PM Modi told Siddaramaiah on stage as people kept chanting his name.
At the event, PM Modi said that due to growing demand, airlines in India have ordered hundreds of aircraft and the country has become the third major domestic aviation market in the world.
"India is set to give new energy to global aviation market," he said.
He also highlighted the role of women in the aviation sector, saying that 15 per cent of pilots in the country were women, which was 3 times the global average.
