Bahujan Samaj Party MP Danish Ali on Sunday hit back at BJP leader Nishikant Dubey for suggesting that he made unsavoury remarks to instigate BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri, who had passed offensive remarks against Ali during the debate in the Lok Sabha, and said a narrative was being set for "lynching" him outside the House.
In a letter written to Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla, Dubey accused Ali of offering a "running commentary" and making “unsavoury remarks” during Bidhuri's speech in the lower house of parliament on Thursday, instigating him to lose his composure.
Responding to the allegations, Ali said, “I have seen Nishikant Dubey's letter. My verbal lynching was done inside the House and now this is a narrative to get me lynched outside the House."
The BSP MP dismissed the allegations as baseless and asserted that such accusations were part of the BJP-RSS's strategy of repeating falsehoods to make them appear true.
"I would request the Speaker to investigate this baseless allegation. This baseless allegation makes a case for breach of privilege against Nishikant Dubey," he said.
Dubey also alleged that Ali made a "highly objectionable and blasphemous" remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In response, Ali wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that “fictionalising events and playing with the facts will not work this time.”
In a post on X, Ali said, "As the principle of ‘Res ipsa loquitur' says 'the thing speaks for itself', the claims of Sh @nishikant_dubey have no basis. What has happened is a blot and absolutely undeniable. Fictionalising the events and playing with the facts will not work this time."
"Truth is that I tried to protect the prime minister's dignity and urged the Chair to expunge from the House's records highly objectionable words used about Modi ji," he said, posting a short video of the BJP MP citing derogatory words used by rivals for the prime minister before abusing the BSP member.
BJP MP from Delhi Ramesh Bidhuri was accused of making derogatory remarks against BSP’s Danish Ali during a discussion on the success of Chandrayaan-3 in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. Bidhuri's remarks were subsequently expunged from the House.
"The BJP MP (Bidhuri) was speaking in the House. During the speech, he said some people wanted Prime Minister Modi to die like a dog. I intervened and asked him what he was saying and that no one said that about the honourable Prime Minister. Then he called me names which included ‘terrorist’. I want to ask RSS chief Mohan Bhagwatji, what is taught in their shakhas? Is this what they learn in Prime Minister Modiji’s pathshala?” Ali said speaking to the Indian Express.
Ali also wrote a letter to Speaker Om Birla regarding the incident. “I write to you with deep anguish regarding the speech given in the Lok Sabha by an MP of the BJP, Mr Ramesh Bidhuri, during the discussion on Chandrayaan success… During the course of his speech, he directed the most foul, abusive invectives against me, which are part of the records of the Lok Sabha. Among the words he directed against me were ‘Bhadwa’ (pimp),’Katwa’ (circumcised one),‘Mullah ugravadi’ (Muslim terrorist) ‘atankvadi’ ( terrorist) etc…” he stated.
While the BJP on Friday issued a show cause notice to Bidhuri for his use of objectionable words in Parliament, Opposition parties are demanding strict action against him, including suspension from the House.
