After a dip on Monday — mostly linked to the weekend’s lower testing — Covid cases again crawled past the 30,000 mark on Tuesday. With data from Jharkhand and Sikkim still awaited, the day saw 30,914 cases and 378 deaths.

After two days, when deaths remained below 300, Tuesday’s tally is again touching 400. This jump is mostly linked to previous days’ deaths declared in the last 24 hours in Kerala.

The state reported 20 deaths for the past 24 hours while adding another 154 earlier deaths from the ongoing third wave to Tuesday’s tally. Kerala reported 11,776 fresh cases. It was followed by Maharashtra and Mizoram, both reporting over 2,000 cases. Kerala also reported the highest deaths.
