16 Amarnath Pilgrims Killed As Bus Falls Into Gorge; PM Expresses Grief

New Delhi: In Jammu & Kashmir, 16 Amarnath pilgrims were killed and 19 others injured after a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a gorge on Jammu Srinagar national highway in Ramban district on Sunday.   Security officials said that a bus bearing registration number JK02Y-0594 carrying yatris was heading towards Srinagar for Amarnath cave when it met with an accident after a tyre burst near Army Camp Nachilana under police station Banihal on the highway.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief via Twitter. Modi said that his thoughts are with the families of the deceased and also prayed that those injured in the bus accident recover soon.
