Battery Of BJP Leadership Reaches Varanasi To Take Care Of The Election Campaigning Of The PM

New Delhi: With the Prime Minister Narendra Modi telling people of Varanasi that he would not be visiting the city and people would have to take care of Varanasi elections, most of the senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and many local leaders have either reached or would be reaching Varanasi by May 15 as just three days’ campaign remain.

Actually just before the last phase of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP leaders  wants their bid to contribute in the election campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The PM is contesting from the Varanasi seat for the second time.

Sources in the BJP said that national president of the BJP Amit Shah will be stationed there till May 17. He will also go to some nearby constituencies but he will be stationed at Varanasi. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, deputy chief ministers Keshav Prashad  Maurya and Dinesh Chandra Sharma will be present in Varanasi during these days. State BJP president Mahendra Nath Pandey too is focusing more on Varanasi.

Some of the local MLAs and some of the ministers in the Uttar Pradesh government like Siddharth Nath Singh, Nand Gopal Nandi and Dr Rita Bahuguna Joshi too are reaching Varanasi. Maurya has the big responsibility of election management of Varanasi. Allahabad mayor Abhilasha Nandi is also reaching Varansi with Phoolpur candidate Keshri Devi Maurya also reaching Varanasi. Delhi BJP spokesperson and other media cell people have also reached Varanasi.

Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary Muralidhar Rao is already present there from last couple of days and he has been addressing nukkar meetings in the Prime Minister’s constituency and this will go on till the last moment when campaigning is allowed by the election commission. Union railways minister Piyush Goel has also reached and he is likely to address dozens of small meeting. External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj will also start addressing meeting from May 15.

Sources in the BJP said that Amit Shah had a meeting of workers on May 12 to tell them to start door to door campaign till May 17. The BJP president is not only keeping a tab on the progress of the campaign but also seeking feedback. They have been asked that a party workers involved in the election campaign is supposed to meet 10 families in a day. Local MLAs are also asked to start door to door campaign. All the meetings of party president are happening at the central election office at Mahmoorganj.
