RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Says Only Mandir Will Be Built At Ram Janmabhoomi Site In Ayodhya

New Delhi: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has strongly batted for building the Ram Temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya, saying only the mandir would come up there and not any other structure.

Addressing the "Dharma Sansad", a congregation of 2,000 Hindu saints, mutt heads and VHP leaders from across the country at the small temple town atUdupi in Karnataka, he said there should be no ambiguity that Ram Temple will be built in Ayodhya.

"We will construct it. It is not a populist declaration but a matter of our faith. It will not change," Bhagwat said.

New Delhi: Registering strong protest to Lashker-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed's latest declaration that he would continue to help Kashmiris achieve "freedom", the home ministry has termed it as yet another re-articulation of the agenda of the "terrorist constituency" that thrives across the border.

Saeed, who was freed on Thursday after the Pakistani authorities decided against detaining him further, told reporters after his release: "I was detained for 10 months only to stop my voice for Kashmir."

"I fight for the case of Kashmiris. I will gather the people from across the country for the cause of Kashmir and we will try to help Kashmiris get their destination of freedom".


NPPA Caps Prices Of 51 Essential Medicines

New Delhi: National drug pricing regulator NPPA has capped prices of 51 essential formulations, including those used for the treatment of cancer, pain, heart conditions and skin problems.

The prices have been slashed in the range of 6 to 53 per cent.

In separate notifications, the drug price regulator said it has notified ceiling prices of 13 formulations, while revising the same for 15 formulations.

Moreover, retail prices of 23 essential formulations have also been notified, National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) said.


Election Commission Announces Bye-election Schedule For RK Nagar And Other Constituencies

New Delhi: Election Commission on Friday announced by-poll to R K Nagar assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu, Sikandra in Uttar Pradesh, Sabang in West Bengal and Likabali and Pakke- Kasang constituencies in Arunachal Pradesh. 

Notification for the polls will be issued on 27th of this month. Voting will take place on 21st of December and counting will be held on 24th. The high-profile RK Nagar Assembly constituency is vacant since the death of former Chief Minister Jayalalitha. 

The Election Commission had earlier cancelled the by-election in April to the seat based on evidence of large-scale bribing of voters. 


World Bank’s Rs. 630 Crore Push To Set Up Solar Plants

New Delhi: India and the World Bank on Monday signed a $98 million loan pact, and a $2 million grant agreement to help the country increase power generation capacity through cleaner, renewable energy sources.
The Shared Infrastructure for Solar Parks Project will finance Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd (IREDA), to provide sub-loans to states to invest in various solar parks. The solar parks will be mostly under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Solar Park Scheme.
The first two solar parks are in the Rewa and Mandsaur districts of Madhya Pradesh, with targeted installed capacities of 750 MW and 250 MW respectively. Other states where potential solar parks could be supported under this project are in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Haryana.
