Irrfan’s Blackmail and Hindi Medium ruling Box Office in India and China respectively

New Delhi: Irrfan Khan-starrer Blackmail has earned Rs 11.42 crore in first three days. After a rather dull show on the opening day Friday, the film picked up on Saturday and continued the upward trend on Sunday.
Khan is not keeping well these days, but Bollywood star Irrfan Khan’s movies are ruling both, Indian and the Chinese box office alike. While his Hindi Medium is making a killing in China, his latest film, Blackmail, is slowly picking up pace at the domestic box office.
Film trade analyst provided the films business figures: “#Black puts up DECENT NUMBERS in its opening weekend... The BO performance is similar to #HindiMedium [₹ 12.56 cr], although that film had a lower screen count… Weekdays are crucial... Fri 2.81 cr, Sat 3.85 cr, Sun 4.56 cr. Total: ₹ 11.22 cr. Hindi Medium edges out Dangal and BajrangiBhaijaan at the China box office

New Delhi: Bollywood film Hindi Medium with Irrfan Khan as the main protognist has edged out big Bollywood releases such as Aamir Khan’s Dangal and Salman Khan’s BajrangiBhaijaan to mark a bigger opening at the China box office. The film has made $3.68 million (Rs 3.6 crore).
The film, that released in China on April 4, is only behind Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar which grossed $6.4 million (Rs 41.5 crore) on the opening day, according to cinema ticket sales website Maoyan.com.
Hindi Medium has earned about $22 million till date.
Also starring Pakistani actor Saba Qamar, the film depicts a couple trying hard to admit their child into an English-medium school.


Salman Khan Skips Dinner But Not Working Out

New Delhi:  A jail officer informed that Bollywood actor Salman Khan worked out for at least three hours on Friday evening inside ward number 2 - doing crunches, push-ups, skipping, jumping and other exercises. However, the fil star skipped his dinner refusing to eat porridge and gram which was served to inmates on Friday.
Salman was restless late Thursday evening when a senior jail officer visited him and asked if he required a doctor. Salman politely refused and lay down on a mat on the floor. "He went off to sleep around midnight and got up for a few minutes at 6.30am when the jail siren sounded. He went back to sleep and got up at 8.30am," said jail superintendent Vikram Singh.


Jail To Salman A Big Worry For Bollywood As Rs 800 Crore At Stake

New Delhi: With the sentencing of Salman Khan Bollywood is worried as there's a lot riding on him that is about Rs 800 crore. "If he doesn't get bail, it'll be a huge loss. There are only a few superstars who guarantee not just success, but big success," said Bollywood trade analyst.

"The immediate concern is 'Race 3', being filmed for Rs 125 crore. Only four or five days of shoot is left." The film is slated for an Eid release on June 14. His other big venture this year was 'Bharat', aRs 200-crore film, reportedly Salman's most expensive home production. Filming was scheduled from June.

Other pending projects include 'Kick 2', sequel to a popular action-comedy franchise, costing over Rs 100 crore. The film was meant to go on the floors in January 2019 and the makers had booked next year's Christmas for its release. Khan was also reportedly getting ready to slip into the uniform of ChulbulPandey for the third time by mid-2018, for 'Dabangg 3'.
