New Delhi: AnupamKher, who got to know Sonali in the last 15 days in New York, shared this realisation. He is getting introduced to the real Sonali Bendre in the last few days reflects all of us, in a way. We have all known and admired Sonali Bendre as an actor over the years but it is only in the last few weeks that we saw her show grit, determination and grace as she battled cancer.

“I have done few films with @iamsonalibendre. We’ve met socially many times in Mumbai. She always has been bright & a very warm person. But it is only in the last 15days that I got the opportunity to spend some quality time with her in NY. And I can easily say, ‘She is my HERO,’” he wrote on Twitter. He also posted a photo of Sonali that she had shared after cutting her hair short in July. While Sonali is undergoing treatment for cancer in New York, Anupam is shooting for his new series in the US.

New Delhi: Karan Johar has announced his next, Takht, and with this film set during Mughal reign, he is all set to make a historical for the first time. The film is not only all set to be an epic, its star cast is phenomenal too. Takht (meaning the throne and implies a seat of power), is a drama set in the Mughal times and will star Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt in the lead. They will be ably supported by Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and hottest new star kid on the block, Janhvi Kapoor.

Taking to Twitter to make the big announcement, Karan wrote: “An incredible story embedded in history... An epic battle for the majestic Mughal throne... A story of a family, of ambition, of greed, of betrayal, of love & of succession... TAKHT is about WAR for LOVE....” While Karan has not revealed the story of the film, speculation says it will revolve around the war between siblings Dara Shikoh and Aurangzeb.

New Delhi: A new song, Monobina, from Akshay Kumar’s upcoming sports-based film Gold was unveiled on August 7. Starring Akshay and Mouni Roy, who plays his wife in the film, Monobina boasts of foot-tapping music and is meant to raise spirits.

Sharing the song on Twitter, Akshaywrote: “Foot tapping music, crazy lyrics, a hook step and #Monobina make this song pure #Gold!”

The song features some of the members of the cast, including Vineet Singh (who plays a character called Imtiaz) and AmitSadh (who will appear as Raghubir Pratap Singh), as they raise a toast to hockey and free India. Akshay as Tapan Das, the assistant manager of India’s pre-independence hockey team, is shown to be in high spirits as he breaks into rapturous praise for his wife, named Monobina Das.
